Little lady with the dark brown hair, what you doing sitting way over there? Come here darling, I’m in love with you. Sweetest girl that I’ve ever seen, Oh baby don’t be so mean. Come here darling, I’m in love with you. Well you got my heart, and you got my soul. Woman I hope that you know. Baby, I’m in love Baby, I’m still in love Baby, I’m still in love with you Now we’ve been together a while, I still think you got grace and style. Come here darling, I’m in love with you. You’re everything that I ever need, Baby don’t make me beg and plead. Come here darling, I’m in love with you.

When I get home in the evening I start feeling that feeling I wanna dance up on the ceiling I wanna be with you Wake up early in the morning Even though I’m yawning You know I’m feeling that longing I wanna be with you The one thing I can say when I start to feel this way I’m the luckiest man alive 4X then stop on ! Let’s take a little walk downtown See what’s going on around town And when the sun start going down I wanna be with you When I’m coming home at night You’re such a beautiful sight I’m makin’ sure I treat you right I wanna be with you There’s one thing I can say when I start to feel this way I’m the luckiest man alive

I wish that I could talk to my younger self And tell him there’s no need for so much crying Think of all the children born every minute Even when there’s so many people dying It’s gonna be alright It’s gonna be alright There’s so many things that you don’t know So many places for you to go And you‘re lonely But you won’t be And you‘re lonely But you won’t be... Sometimes I sit around talking to myself And remind me that I’m really doing okay It’s hard to remember things ain’t so bad anymore And tomorrow really is a whole new day Now I’m writing a letter to my future self And hopefully it helps me to get along Gonna keep it in my pocket and read it now and then And maybe then I can sit around and sing this song It Ain’t Easy It Ain’t Easy It Ain’t Easy It Ain’t Easy It Ain’t Easy…..

Satisfaction is just you reaction to your position relative to your wishes. Time is the currency of dreamers. Money is just paper on the fire. No sooner did your hand I shake, And you was talkin’ about a break. I knew I had something you would never. You were a has been. I was a never been. But surely we could learn from each other. You surely know. You’d trade it all for that one call. And time is the currency of dreamers. Money is just paper on the fire. Count your blessings. Count ‘em all. As seas are deep, as ships are tall. Yeah, And time is the currency of dreamers. Money is just paper on the fire. Money is just paper on the fire. Yeah, money is just paper on the fire.

Young cousin Johnny was the first to go Left for the States just seventeen years old Spent all his money with nothing to show Cousin Johnny was first to go I made up mind, it was time to go North Sold all of my things for what they were worth “I can’t just stay here walking back and forth” It was time to head up North Left Tegucigalpa on a Saturday night Was in Guatemala before the sun’s light “ don’t miss my home and it doesn’t feel right” I left on a Saturday night And I’m Pennsylvania bound Outside Philadelphia my family is found Traveled four thousand miles on American Ground I’m Pennsylvania bound In Nuevo Laredo we started to walk There were 30 other people and we barely talked And 3 dead bodies laid out on the rocks In Laredo we started to walk We walked for 3 days on the Rio Grand My feet growing tired from walking the land But I felt I was finally making my stand 3 days on the Rio Grand Just into Texas we got in the van Held up at gunpoint by a once trusted man “Now we’re headed for Houston as fast as we can.” In Texas we go in the van 3 days of driving across the U.S. Hadn’t eaten in days and could use a good rest “When I see my sister I’ll be feeling blessed.” 3 days across the U.S. Pulled up to a house in the suburbs somewhere Saw my sister face and her long curly hair And I cried with a feeling of joy and despair Finally, in the suburbs somewhere Now I’m working off my debt and planning to save I keep telling myself that I’ve got to be brave “Gotta work like a slave and disappear like a wave.” I’m here now and planning to save

Since the day I was born, I’d already done wrong Before I drew my first breath, the sinner in me was strong. Mom and Dad were trying to do right. Tried to keep me in God’s sight. Trying to bring me God’s love, Trying to bring me to the light. So after just a little while they said, “God bless our child.” Pour that holy water on his big, Irish head and tell us he’s sanctified. ‘Cuz I was born a sinner, can’t escape my fate. Better get down on my knees and pray before it’s much too late. But then as I got older, I grew a chip on my shoulder Why do carry so much guilt and shame that it feels like I’m under a boulder? I said to the Lord above, I don’t feel your love All I see is greed and hate and pushin’ always coming to shove. So then I made up my mind, It was time that I realized I gotta see things my own way, gotta see with ‘em my own eyes ‘Cuz I was born a sinner, can’t escape my fate. I’ll never get down on my knees and pray, it’s already much too late. Dear Universe, whatever you are, sparkling be your stars. In vacuum doth rotate, in space doth locate, our pale blue dot named Earth. Give us more days to breathe the world’s air and forgive us not for we are not evil. Lead us into enlightenment and deliver us from ignorance. For wine is delicious, and food is nutritious, and love is for everyone everywhere. Can I get an “Amen”? Since the day I was born, I’d already done wrong Before I drew my first breath, the sinner in me was strong.

I think I’ll be a good dad Teach ‘em how to tell what’s good or bad Give ‘em everything I never had Yeah, I think I’ll be a good dad Well, I’ll be tough but fair I’ll help my daughter comb her hair And I’ll teach ‘em all how to share Yeah, I’ll try to be tough but fair ‘Cause I got good woman Yeah I got a good woman She knows she’s a good woman And she knows I’m gonna treat her right And when ya got a good woman. Yeah You better do the best you can Yeah, you better do the best you can, man I’ll keep ‘em on their toes Telling jokes and makin’ sloppy joes Even sayin’ “stop pickin’ your nose!” Yeah, try to keep ‘em all on their toes I’ll make their momma proud She might even say it out loud Hope I never lose one in a crowd Yeah, try to make their momma proud ‘Cuz all I really want Is a happy heart And a home to call my own And when you’re here with me That’s all I need So I’ll never feel alone.

Red moon of Rafina take me home again I wanna be back on the porch with my friends I’ve only got two week left here in Athens Red moon of Rafina take me home. Cicadas singing softly in the olive trees The cats are busy sleeping in the yard Walking slowly down the hill to the bakery When we’re going downhill it ain’t so far At a table under a tree we’re drinking cold Raki Then we’ll walk up the hill ‘cause we don’t have a car Waking up early eating yogurt and fruit Walking down to swim Ble Limanaki Sitting in the sun drying your bathing suit Then we’ll have an early dinner at Limani You’re staring at the square reliving your youth (plateia, kids, bouzouki, sound design, mr. kite) So I kiss you on the hand and then you walk home with me.

You’re my kitten, baby And I’m your scratchin’ post You’re my kitten, baby And I’m your scratchin’ post Well, I never told you, woman But you’re the one I love the most Well, you never call me baby And, girl, I wish you would Yeah, you never call me honey And, girl, I wish you would I’d say come on over here You know I can make ya feel good Say my name, say my name, baby I love it when you say my name Say my name, say my name, honey I love it when you say my name Tell me what you like, darling And I’ll be sure to do the same

It’s my home away from home Where I never feel alone It’s the only place I see your smiling face It’s my home away from home If you like good music I can tell you where to go The Philadelphia Folk Fest Is the best place that I know It’s our brigadoon here And it only lasts so long So while we’re here together Why don’t you sing us a song? We go every summer with our entire family If you’re going to be there too Won’t you come and visit me? (cacaw!) If you don’t know how to play Well, you can always sing along But if you know how to play a chord or three (or four) Won’t help us play this song?
